hi i have been a shitzu owner for over eight years now. i have always had large dogs in the past. my daughter decided to get my wife a shitzu for christmas eight years ago his name was max. it wasnt long before he became my little buddy!! then we got another one named jimmy, love him as much as max. anyway max died suddenly about six months ago and i am still depressed about losing him. i did get another little girl named maggie to help me get thru this. this is the first girl shitzu i have ever had and what a little sweetie. she is starting her first in heat cycle at five months old and is laying around in the closet most of the day like she is having pups or something, and suddenly acting real needy. like wanting to be held at all times. is this normal? thanks ken

Welcome from me too, so sorry of your loss, so very sad Sad

Well as for your little girl, all sounds quite normal as they can act so weird when having their seasons, ive just had a girl in season and she got very depressed and just wanted to sit on my knee all the time where as usually she just lays on the other sofa, just give her some cuddles and it will soon be over group hug

my friend took hers girl to the vets and i think he gave her something but i can't remember off the top of my head. Her girl was acting just like she was pregnant even her nipples grew and went saggy.i would just keep an eye on her and take her for a check up if your concerned. i hope we have helped
