Great news for him, he looks so sweet bless this little one

I still find it hard to believe that so many dogs, surely breeders should be held accountable for what they breed and should take the dog back and find them good homes or keep them.

Sadly this little dog would have been pts this sounds barbaric in this day and age

I totally agree with Maggie on this one! i,ve only ever bred 5 litters, and ive owned shih tzu for 30+ years. I hated parting with those little pups as i thought no one could look after them like i do. But, i only, let the pup go! on agreement that if! thay no longer wanted the pup/ couldnt cope with it, the pup was to come straight back to me. I can honestly say, i had no pups come back, and i have kept in touch with all the familys who brought the pups from me, still to this day. I always send them something at christmas, and thay do me

Thank goodness he has been rescued. I will not attempt to help any more Shih Tzu by posting on this forum.

Please do not stop your work Gayla, I have responded to your PM and wish to make a public apology for what I said. I was upset, and thought it would be a waste of time, and that maybe you were a one-poster who might not return to use/enjoy the forum.

I was out of line and admit that.

I'm pleased he found a home, but please don't let the words of one foolish mod make you go elsewhere.

Sometimes the voice of one may feel lonely but when many voice you know youre not alone.

To be honest I didnt know that pts still went on, even though I find it barbaric it is sometimes better to know than live in ignorance

Like many it upset me and brought me to tears and I also found it hard to stomach, but I am so glad you posted and at least little

    Max has a happy ending.

So please please keep posting and letting us know

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to put in my 2 cents! In America, dogs don't have "value" unless they are making money. Dogs are kept in barns in small pens and bred till they A) get sick B) can't breed anymore C) die on their own. There are many dogs, pure-bred and designer breeds that are loaded in our shelters. If you have the heart, re-search some shelters in the US and look at some of the faces. I got these facts off of http://www.pcawl.org/shelterfacts.html

Each year in this country, 8 to 10 million lost and unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters. They have about a fifty percent chance of getting out alive: 4 to 6 million of them will be euthanized – around a half million a month nationwide, 575 each hour, one every six and a half seconds.

It is ashamed. I am an American, and I think it is a disgrace. I am PASSIONATE about animals...all of them, from dogs to slugs!! If you guys knew me personally, you would think I was crazy for having so many pets! It is sad to say that most dogs that are bred here are only worth what people sell them for. We have so many "designer" (mutts) out there that it is not un-common at all to see a malti-tzu or a pom-a-poo in the shelter in every other kennel run; not to mention their purebred parents there with them in some sad cases! I tell everyone looking for a dog, try rescue first; I guarantee if you go to a shelter, some little friend there will get your heart and soul!! And please, spay/neuter your dog if it is not the right quality! We don't need more puppies and kittens to end up in the shelters thru no fault of their own. (not preaching to anyone here...unless they need to be preached to) God bless everyone here who loves their pets and accepts full responsibility for them and their offspring!

    blow kisses
