by BlueSkyMom on Tue Sep 29, 2009 1:47 amSo today, my beloved cat Angel had to be put to sleep. She was diagnosed with an STD, as I am a breeder of ragdoll cats, and had used an outside male.
I am hurting so much right now... this STD wouldnt have been so bad but her body went through a huge stress from giving birth this last time, she lost 3 in the litter of 5.. its the first time she's ever lost kittens. The past couple of weeks, she's been acting quite strange, so we went to and from the vet multiple times trying so hard to figure out what's wrong with her... 4 days ago, we found out.. and it was not good... she had an STD, and it was in the later stages of it... past the point of no return. I was devistated, and they asked me if I wanted to put her down that day.. and I told them no, that I wanted to bring her home to enjoy a few more days with us.. and so that I could have time to say goodbye.
Well, this morning I didnt get my usual "Meow meow meow!!" outside of the bedroom door as per our morning routine. Instead, I found her struggling to get up the stairs to come greet me.. she saw me, got dizzy, and fell down an entire flight!! I rushed to her and she started crying.. then she pooped on the floor, something she's never done before. She was telling me that it was time to let her go. So I called, and made the appointment.. and took her in. It was so peaceful... she purred right up until the end. My heart broke into a million pieces and I cried in the vet's arms. My husband stayed in the car with the kids, as they had fallen asleep during the ride there... and we didnt want to wake them. The vet was so sweet.. she listened to me while I cried my eyes out.. I sent to have her cremated.. as I cant part with her, but I also just cant think of her being put into the cold cold ground.
Rest in peace my beautiful Butterfly Angel.. I already miss you more than you know.
