    Help

Post by MaggieF on Sat Aug 08, 2009 7:58 pm

I am a member of a forum called Puppy Love, some of you amy know it others may not.
Its sole purpose is to bring about the end of puppy farming, they have worked hard to try and stop it.
Ihave attended demos with Kiz the owner of the forum and I know how hard she and the others keep on fighting to stop this
I visited a couple of puppy farms at the end of last year and did some demos against the Dogs4Us stores in Leeds and Manchester.
I saw Shih Tzus that were in a terrible condition at the stores and when visiting the puppy farms those poor shih tzus made me cry and I have neer got over walking away knowing that they were staying
Puppy Love needs our help to try and stop it so I am posting an E-mail that I got from them I have permission from Kiz and I know they will be grateful for our help and all it will cost is a stamp or E-mail and a little of you time. The post is below

Hello,we hope you watched Channel Fives puppy farm expose last week, if not it is available here http://www.fivetvonline.tv/news.php?page=7&news=1864.
    >
    > This was our second attempt at exposing Welsh pup farms our first undercover work was carried out in 2008 . At that point we hoped for changes for the dogs, we hoped CCC would be shamed into doing something to ensure dogs were cared for properly.
    > We made a noise and did all we could but to no avail, the powers that be came down on the side of the pup farmers.......
    >
    > This time we took different approach and laid the blame for sick pups right on their doorstep , its caused a stir , the nation are upset but are they upset enough to put pen to paper or speak up to their MP on behalf of the dogs ? we doubt it and if we let it things will fizzle out yet again. please dont let it happen. You joined our site to help, we are not asking much ,we really need to keep momentum going, will you let the dogs down ? If so then please ask for your account to be deleted we only want genuine commited dog lovers on board!!
    >
    > We need all dog lovers to help, we need support which is very lacking. We need you to make a noise create a fuss on behalf of the voiceless.
    >
    > The old excuse of things will never change will not wash with us ....they will change we will not give up ....how about you ?
    >
    > The W.A and Welsh MP's will take more notice of Welsh residents than it ever will of us outsiders so please please, if you are in Wales, get organized , make a concerted effort to complain loud and long. We cannot ,we will not fail them again,we need to keep this going while its still in the public eye.

OK you have spurred me into action. My westie was 'rescued' from a Welsh puppy farm with around 200 others nearly 10 years ago. I met her at a local rescue where I volunteer and fell in love instantly, even though I knew what I was letting myself in for and I have never regretted that decision.

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the outfit but, let's face it - there are quite a number of such establishments nestling in isolated splendour in the Welsh valleys. I will tell Daisy's story before, during and after rescue to my MP and Carmarthenshire County Council .

Sorry I am not Welsh or a resident of Wales but 'every little helps'... I hope. Wink

My daughters friend brought a Westie locally several years ago and it was only on the homeward journey as I was reading the paperwork we realized he had originated from a Welsh puppy farm.

He is a lovely little boy but came with many problems skin trouble ear trouble tummy upsets I could go on and on.

I did try to dissuade her as the mother was no where to be seen and there were so many puppy's I was suspicious immediately but she was determined to leave with the puppy.

Something really needs to be done to stop this appalling traffic of defenceless, voiceless little fur people and we do need to keep on and on till it is.

Please tell us your story GK

This is all so sad Maggie, Im sure everyone here will help in any way we can group hug

I remeber going on one of the protests and was upset by people reactions and them still going into the store to buy puppies, the more publicity this gets the better.

I would also like to hear the stories and then maybe it will make people think long and hard.

Right members lets spring into action group cheer
