Re: R.I.P. Barney
I am really having a tough time dealing with this, it feels as if someone has ripped my heart out - We got Barney not long after my son was born and they grew up together to see him so heartbroken at this time of year is so unfair. I have had to come into work, but dread going home as he was always one of the first in the queue to greet you - Benson is almost certainly the first as he had an escape route through Barneys legs. Dogs are not stupid and I think Benson is suffering from depression, he looks so sad, they were bestest of mates.

Re: R.I.P. Barney
I know just how you feel hun, when i lost Ellie it was the worst thing i have ever felt, she was my first dog bought with my husband, we got her just as me and Hubby met so my 2 boys were born and thats all they knew, she was 12 when we lost her in April of last year and it ripped my heart out, when i think about her now i still cry and get really upset but it does get easier it really does, our hearts still ache for them and we will never forget them but in time we cope with it...You all just need time to get used to the family home been without him, hard as it is the kids do get over it as they are stronger than us.
Just think happy times, you will get through it

Re: R.I.P. Barney
Thanks Fluff, he was not the first dog that we have lost, we lost Charlie 4 years ago and Rusty before that - I have had dogs all my life. You seem to forget what its like to loose one, as you dont seem to dwell on the pain we feel when one is taken from us - If we did we would not have pets at all.
I know it gets easier with time but I have never lost one right on top of Chirstmas.
